Hi, Dan, In english it means that the apparent brightness of the Tyndall Effect varies with the order of magnitude of 'its intensity, not the intensity itself. So a TE of a dilution (say, 2:1) will look almost the same as the TE of the undiluted liquid. And Marshall's experiment would indicate a 99.9+% removal of the particulates, not just 95%.
Eyeballing is still a good method; it just has to be adjusted. Hearing is the same way - and that's why we use the (quasi)unit of decibels instead of intensity of sound. Best regards, Matthew
