I recently read that zinc picolinate was more effective than other
forms. I've not yet tried this myself, though.

The Albion chelates (That may be a patented name) are said to be very
bioavailable and I believe that Source Naturals' "chelated minerals" are
the Albion formulation. So, their chelated zinc would probably be good,
and inexpensive.
