Hi, Marshall, It may be that the h2o2 is generating colloidal silver by the Carey Lea process. (Matthew Carey-Lea coined the phrase 'colloidal silver.') This process is a non-sedimentary precipitation.
The 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica's article on Silver indicates that a variety of agents can generate Carey Lea silver from silver solutions. Although h2o2 is not mentioned, it is not excluded either. The paragraph on Carey Lea silver says; "Colloidal silver is the name given by Carey Lea to the precipitates obtained by adding reducing agents, such as ferrous sulphate, tartrates, citrates, tannin, etc., to silver solutions." Carey Lea worked on silver colloids for photographic applications and published his methods in 1892-1894. Phil. Mag. 34,46 (1892) and 37,31 and 470(1894.) Dmitri Mendeleev (of Periodic Table fame) detailed a method of making Carey Lea silver using ferrous sulphate in his textbook, The Principles Of Chemistry, 2nd English Edition, 1897, Chapter XXIV, pp 420-423 & notes 18, 18bis, 18tri.
