Pollen off the windshield doesn't have much flavor at all.
A more directly perceived visual and injestion sensation connection may have something to do with the difference.
Perhaps too, the composition of the pollen mix is 'todays mix' rather than last summers...providing todays suggestion?
I have made allergy stuffed up people practically drown as their sinuses cleared at the count of ten.
I therefore believe that many allergic reactions are psychological.
Sometimes people will inadvertantly reveal their life game plan in casual conversation and reveal how an allergy plays out in that plan without them knowing it.
If you run across a chronic sufferer, listen closely to everything they say that's not 'apparently' related.
One such person said 'off hand' that she was [quote] "so tired of struggling for everything".
I began to notice that every major undertaking was accompanied by barriors that specifically made the job difficult.
A demand for high physical energy was accompanied by a case of the flu [every time!], but she would bull through ...and so on.
She LIVED for flowers and gardening, but was allergic to every little bug bite and all pollens.
After that, I started listening to 'myself' talk and discovered a few patterns of my own.
The important discovery was that the patterns didn't matter nearly as much as the discovery that I made connections with results and could cease to make those connections using any excuse... even if it was just as crazy as the original excuse that established the pattern.
"I'm NUTS" and nuts is doing this.
It makes no sense at all, so, why can't nuts do something else?
I'd rather snap my fingers uncontrollably than have a cold all the time, right?
Having toenail fungus and 'not' having very painful arthritis in that toe occurred at the same time. Hummmm.
CS WAS clearing up the fungus. Maybe I got scared that the arthritis would come back and 'willed' the fungus back?
That toe hurt like Hell. The fungus only looks bad. [Good trade off in my book]
Licking windshields looks stupid....
So does tapping ones forehead.
Now, just how wound up am I in appearing to be intelligent?
Is it enough to stuff up my nose?
... time to study on non defensive additudes and go ahead and 'be' the idiotic nut that I am.

Hiya Ode,<<<<
Do ya think you could have desensitived yourself to pollen by consuming raw honey also? (Granted, licking the windshield is much cheaper, but not as tasty!)
Interested,

I've virtually eliminated my sensitivty to pollen by licking my windshield a few times.
It's like saying, "Hey bod, when you look at pollen that way, it hurts. If you look at it this way, it's food..so lookie here!"
Well, pepper is still pepper and pepper makes me sneeze now and then, but that's about it.
Mechanical irritation is a world different from an allergic reaction.

Hi:<<<<
I am new to the silver list, but I saw the reference to ADHD and allergies, and want to help.
I have many, many allergies, and would be disabled were it not for my discovery of NAET--Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique. This technique effectively clears all allergies, and the conditions that they cause--autism and ADHD being among these. The founder of this technique, Devi Nambudripad, has written numerous books on the use of the technique, including SAY GOOD-BYE TO ADD AND ADHD, and SAY GOOD-BYE TO ILLNESS. I have personally witnessed remarkable results with this method.
