I recently purchased a CS-PRO system (the MHVAC unit with 3 electrodes)
and wanted to experiment with other solution catalysts than the one
provided with the kit (the unit advises to start with a 5ppm solution
achieved with a distilled water/baking soda solution). Their website
indicates that the baking soda does not react with the Ag in any way,
however I am skeptical of this and wanted to try other means of
achieving a decent starting water conductance. I have a 'Nature Kleen'
water ozonator with a stone ball aerator which I put in my clean CS
batch pot which came with the kit and filled with distilled water. after
switching the Nature Kleen ozonator on, almost instantly the reading on
my hanna ppm meter jumped from a strong '1' to '11' and within 5 minutes
of the water ozonation process was reading a solid 15. I decided to
start brewing CS at this point and very quickly (within 90 seconds) saw
the visual signs of the cs reaction between the electrodes. I stopped
the process @ 11 minutes into it as it was already getting a bit cloudly
and i wanted to keep it clear. After swirling the batch vigorously,
removing the lid and allowing the batch 30 minutes to settle I inserted
the meter which now read 13. It's been 4 hours and it's still at 13.

Question 1 - is oxygen or ozone known to affect ppm/conductance like
this? If not, where could my flaw have been? I'm wondering if the
aerator stone might have deposited some conductive sediment or
something, although the meter read '1' with the stone in the pot before
activating the ozonator.... well anyway, any help with this mystery
would be appreciated

Question 2 - any thoughts on the baking soda @ 5ppm for starter
solution? the cspro site swears up and down that baking soda is not
table salt so it doesn't create sodium compounds with the Ag, but I was
hoping to get some balanced info on this subject.

Question 3 - could I use a 5ppm cs solution made from my silverpuppy
lvdc cs generator as a starting solution with good results?

and now Question 4 - I'm interested in buying an HVAC silver system.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a particular model that would be a
good starter system for me? I'm looking for something sub-$300 so if
there are any suggestions on a particular model that would help me a
great deal.

thanks!
