Why do some folks seem to just wait. How do we explain the N.O. situation? Why did tens of thousands wait to be flooded? If you have no car, you can still walk out of harm's way, especially with a three day warning. Three to four miles per hour is typical for a stroll. With a hurricane at your backside no doubt one would walk faster. With 14 hours of daylight at a 4mph walk, you travel 56 miles in a day. In 3 days you could walk half way to Houston! In one day you could get to high ground going north. Relatively few were in ill health. Did most not believe the media news? Did most not believe the government who also gave warnings? Were they so blinded by a history of handouts that their personal power to escape nature was beyond their own imagination?
