THANKS Terry (and Nenah for your earlier reply),

I will switch to Hydrogen peroxide for cleaning the crocks and add a quart batch of CS to the crock every time I dump a new 5-gallons of water in it.

The water comes from a machine at Publix which has a multi-step filtrations process:
1) Carbon Filter
2) Reverse Osmosis
3) UV light
4) another Carbon Filter

It tastes better to me than most bottled waters I've tried and it seems like a pretty good purifying system.

Blessings,

Subject: CS>CS, chlorine, etc.

Cynthia (I believe) said,
"Every month or so we clean the crock and the 3
5-gallon water bottles with small amounts of chlorine
mixed with water to keep them clean."<

Hydrogen peroxide works as well as chlorine, and is
not dangerous. Call the feed stores around you to see
if they carry Food Grade hydrogen peroxide. If they
do, it will be in gallons and much cheaper than HF
stores.

The CS will also be good, and puting it in everyone's
drinking water is a good idea, plus the water keeps
its good taste longer.

"If I poured in a batch or two of CS water every time
I used a new 5 gallon water bottle would the CS water
mix with impurities in the other water and form "bad"
stuff?"<

This is a non-issue. Does CS mix with, say, chlorine
(if you are making the mistake of drinking chlorinated
water) and form silver-chloride? Yes. Is there any
clear evidence that silver-chloride is a dangerous
poison to be avoided? No. Even the EPA only lists it
as an irritant to mucous membranes if strong enough.

If you are drinking even halfway decent water, mix CS
freely with it. Silver is just a mineral, like iron or
selenium. You don't have to handle it with kid gloves
or tippy-toe around it in case it mysteriously
transforms into a toxic substance.
