You brewed it too long. It's perfectly good CS, but
your silver wires will last longer if you brew it just
to the point before it changes color. Next time, add
25% CS from this batch (you didn't say how big the
batch was) and 75% distilled water and brew for one
hour. One cup of CS with 3 cups of DW will brew in 1/3
the time that straight DW takes.
Also, buy some more AC-DC adapters (yard sales,
Goodwill stores, Salvation Army stores, etc.) and
daisy-chain them together to increase your voltage and
speed up the process. By daisy-chain, I mean join the
positive wire from adapter 1 to the negative wire of
adapter 2, the positive wire of adapter 2 to the
negative wire of adapter 3 and so on. When you are
through joining them, you will still have a loose wire
from the first and last adapter to put alligator clips
on to hook to your silver wires. If you join three
12-volt adapters together, you will get 36 VDC, which
will enable you to put one quart of CS into a 1-gallon
glass pickle jar, add 3 quarts of DW and brew it for
one hour to get 1-gallon batches of CS. In this case,
the wires should be about 4" apart.
Clear, colored, cloudy, bitter, metallic - drink it
all freely. OK, don't make coffee-colored CS and drink
a lot of that. I've drunk many, many gallons of yellow
and gold and cloudy CS over the years, and I'm still
pink!
