I routinely use CS as part of the liquid portion of my hand cream, but just because I have a lot of CS around. While the CS might help a little preventing a cream from going rancid or molding it isn't very effective because the fats coat the silver I guess, and immobilize it. Creams I've made with CS as the liquid have gone moldy. Many online recipes call for GSE as a preservative.

Making creams incorporating water is iffy. If I haven't made a cream for a while, I usually mess it up.And I can never get in as much liquid as cream recipes call for or it separates, and curdles. It is harder than making mayonnaise, LOL.

Is there any way to add CS to it so it? I tried adding some but of
course it just separated and the beeswax/plantain mixture is on top and
the liquid CS is on the bottom ;-(
