List, Tonight I got an unusual call from a very polite man. He said he was working at the New Waveland Cafe http://newwavelandcafe.blogspot.com/2005/09/youd-have-done-same-for-us.html
This is entirely staffed by volunteers, who are helping the people of Mississippi to rebuild their community after devastation from the recent hurricane. My caller told me that amongst the various requests people had made (for food, clothing, medications, etc.), someone had mentioned my Rife Handbook! I was stunned and pleased both. The implications were sobering...I thought about what it meant that one of my customers, who had ordered my book some time within the last three years, was now without it and really wanted a copy. Knowing this, I felt much more connected to the hurricane survivors. My caller appeared to be nervous about soliciting even one book from "Dr." Sylver. He told me about the workers and the people who'd lost their homes, said that he hadn't heard of Rife but that some of the survivors were into "natural healing." I told him, don't worry about it, I'll be happy to help. I packed two copies each of my Rife and sauna therapy books, along with some relatively healthy protein bars (I was sure the people could use some food), into two priority mail boxes to go out in tomorrow's post. I don't know if anyone in Mississippi can get distilled water, but it occured to me that if they could, a CS generator might come in really handy. If anyone on this list wants to contribute, please email me *privately*. I didn't catch the guy's name, but I do have his telephone number that showed up on my caller ID. It should be easy enough to call him and vibe out whether it's appropriate for you to help. Mike, I hope you don't mind this rather irregular email. I posted partly because the people could really use something to help them combat infections. But I posted also because this is a story about how something you do can affect someone else in a meaningful way without your ever knowing it. And how, by a fluke, you may find out that you did indeed make a positive difference in someone's life. Across thousands of miles, a rescue mission and a waterlogged city, someone remembered my book and missed it. I feel honored and very humbled. Nenah
