Thanks! I can do the CS and DMSO easily here - also the MSM. As to the ice for 24-48 hours, well, he hit his toe about 4:00 in the afternoon, and we were going out for the evening. So, it wasn't until about 11:00 the next day that we got started on anything. So, I opted to go right for heat, to get blood circulating to the toes really well. He is also starting to see signs of arthritis in his toes, and I've been after him to use the footbaths with Epsom Salts, DMSO and Apple Cider Vinegar for months now. This broken toe has motivated him....
As to the swelling, I'm trying to remember the healing effects of swelling. I'm sure they are there, just as a fever is actually a healing effect. But, I can't remember what the purpose of the swelling is.... Linda sol <[email protected]> wrote: I'd apply EIS and DMSO. Doesn't really need to be much more than 10% DMSO, but could go higher if tolerated. Several times a day. Could also use a DMSO gel with MSM. I've always been told you ice such an injury the first 24-48 hours at least. Applying heat too soon increases pain and swelling. (I have personal experience of that!). sol Linda Ellis wrote: > Okay, this may be OT, but there are so many holistic types out here, > I'm betting someone has some ideas! > > I'm looking for ideas to help my husband with what we are pretty sure > is a broken toe.
