Hi Nancy, If you want total confidence in what you are making and what you give away invest in a PWT meter. Then, test the distilled water before you use it and test the finished CS each time. I was buying good distilled water that measured pure each time I bought that brand. They once made a bad batch that showed up at several of our local stores that measured 20 microseimens. I would have made some CS that was not nearly as good as it should have been had I not been testing the water prior to making my CS.
Since I have my own PWT, it's very easy to test each finished batch and I always do that. The cost of the PWT seems like a lot at first, but since this is a lifetime project it's really not much in the big scheme of things. I have the setting just past the center point for ppm, and am using arrowhead steam distilled water. I need a scientist in my kitchen to advise me?:)...or i proceed with faith?
