If not, are you talking simply about Coconut Oil as purchased at a health food store? Some coconut oil from HFSs are refined. You have to read the label. The VCNO I am talking about is not made from copra (dried coconut), which can go moldy on its way to the manufacturing plants and need refining bleaching and deodorising, and of course the kind that comes in solid bricks wrapped in paper in the grocery store has been hydrogenised as well. I get mine from Canberra, Australia, and that kind is also sold in Canada, as I understand. http://www.kokonutpacific.com.au/ But there is a whole new standard in coconut oils. Getting the moisture out is a critical factor. The oil is absolutely clear when liquid (above 75 degrees or so, forget exact) and white when solid. It should taste delicate. If it is yellowish or tastes unpleasant, you won't enjoy it. Some firms centrifuge the water out, others pour it off again and again, leaving the water behind. It has a long shelf life without preservatives. Our local grocery-type CO now has added soy lecithin, I notice. I think the difference with cansema and VCNO might be the speed of action - Cansema seems very quick.
