I personally think the Lyme test does more harm than good. The reason is
that it has such an incredibly high false negative rate people end up
not getting treated until they are chronic if ever.  The test is why I
had lyme for several years, and it took $10,000 worth of intravenous
drugs to cure instead of a simple $3.00 bottle of penicillin.  I  kept
telling the doc I had lyme, but he would run that damn test and tell me
I didn't. I finally switched doctors and the new doctor diagnosed me
without even running the test, telling me the test is worthless.  By
then I was on crutches.  It took me over 10 years to recover fully.
