CS, itself, tends to speed up healing. I've used it on cut and bruised
skin and it heals in half the time with little scar. I kept it wet with
CS constantly. The vocal cords/larynx may be slow to heal because of
the blood circulation there. (Just a layman talking here though...)
I would think that using a good atomizing spray to spray CS into the
mouth while breathing in would coat the vocal cords and speed healing.
Many seem to feel that CS on a wound reduces pain as well. I would do a
spray once a minute at first, once every 5 minutes, increasing the time
as necessary for convenience of application. If spraying too often
adversely affected the lungs in any way with too much fluid, you'd
obviously have to cut back. In this case, I'd *spray* with CS and not
just nebulize. The spray should coat the upper part of the throat and
so on, rather than going into the lungs. I don't know if you can
tolerate DMSO but you could also try some (10 or 20%) in the CS.

Subject: CS>REF: CS/EIS gargling plus---
Hi gang!
Once again I am asking advice from the forum. Since gettng out of the
hospital on the
17th of Jan I have had a very sore throat and weakkkkk voice. The nurse
had pulled the
breathing tube from my throat on the10th(never again). EMS had brought
me into ER
slightly on the "blue" side(cathartic?). I have tried nebulizing and
misting with my home
brew EIS plus medicine "Ipratopium Bromide" coupled with "Xopenex" which
opens airways.
Does anyone have any other suggestions that would help heal my larnyx
which probably got injured when they pulled the tube out? I can spray
throat with cover-ups, but I want healing
measures. Thanks, Pete

Pete,
Try gargling with (and swallowing) aloe vera gel, and/or slippery elm
bark made into a thick, mucilagenous tea.
