Jim, has this relative had the throat cultured to see what antibioitic will be the best. My friends daughter had a reoccuring streph infection and finally at the insitance of her parents, had the swab cultured and they discovered that she was on the wrong antibiotic. Also, one of the newer ways of treating streph, is giving a s tronger dose twice daily instead of three times a day.Some doctors dont think this is as effective. My son when having reoccuring streph twice, was given a shot in the hip of penicillin which took care of the streph. Olive leaf would be a good natural antibiotic and if you google alternatives to treating streph, there are probably some useful herbals.
