Ah, yes. Our list conscience has reminded me that we've been freewheeling on rather too many Off Topic subjects for too long. <grin>
Sorry Bob. You're right again. What I'd like to do is remind you, friends, that we have another complete list on which to handle these topics at length with no complaints to worry about. Because the archives are still down, you will have to subscribe to the Silver Off Topic List, the same as you do the main list, by visiting http://www.silverlist.org and clicking on the Off Topic List link at the left. Then follow the instructions there. To make being on both lists viable, PLEASE learn how to train your e- mail system to sort or filter your e-mail into separate folders based on the CS> or SO> prefix that's on each list message Subject line. If you need help with this, contact me at [email protected] ... If I can't help you, we'll ask on the list. The last thing you want to put up with is all your mail coming into one mailbox all jumbled together. Sort it! Only a fraction of the people on the main list, mostly regular posters, are on the OT list. That often limits any attempt to discuss things when half the contributors we might have aren't there. The OT list is shared between alternative health topics and other topics like politics and religion. This is where you're going to have to be ruthless with your DELETE KEY, because those other topics need a place to go as well, and the OT list is it, for the time being. Just sort by Subject and bulk delete any thread that doesn't interest you! Once our forums are up, we'll have a really nice division of Off Topic forum areas that you can use, without overlap or conflict. Until then, please make intelligent use of the two lists we have. So, two things: 1) Subscribe to the OT list and learn to follow threads there from the main list. 2) Learn to sort your e-mail so you have less reason to say "I'm getting too much mail!" If you do these things, any time somebody says "I'm taking this to the OT list!" it'll be right there, waiting for you when you go to look for it, because you'll be regularly downloading the OT list already, even if you never look at them except to erase 'em all once in a while to free up space. Let me know if you need help.
