I'm curious. My grandfather carried a silver dollar around with him for years when he was a child up until he was in his 50's. He constantly held it in his hand while in the pocket and rubbed it bare. He never got sick until after he placed the "good luck" coin in his safe deposit box. He's now in his 80's and still gets around like a young man despite his bout with pneumonia back in the 70's and now cancer (which is in remission). Is it possible that the 1923 silver dollar kept him well? I didn't know if touch transfer was enough to do the same as ingesting CS.
