Hey R- MSM in a CS mixture will also go rancid, but I haven't yet seen mold grow in it. After two weeks it will still be clear, but it will stink if you've had it to your nose in a nasal spray bottle. DMSO- as much as I love it for many uses, up my nose is not one of them. I find it overly drying and irritating, and have not had any positive nasal effect from it that I couldn't get with MSM, which is much milder. Salt- now there's an idea, why didn't I think of that? Surely it would make the solution more nasal-friendly and inhibit mold for at least a few days. I'll have to try that.
