Sounds about right.

Running it longer may increase the ppm, but only by making larger
particles. It does not increase the effectiveness much, if any.

I make mine in what is about my fourth experimental generator. I use a
coin for the positive electrode and a couple of short wires for the
negative ones. (Just an experiment with the geometry to see if it would
work. It does, but isn't important. <grin>)

The major difference from your setup is that I have a resistor in
series with the cell, which slows the current flow to keep the current
density (current per unit area) very low. I run it overnight to make a
quart of CS that is clear, colorless, has very faint Tyndall, tastes
metallic, and works about like any other CS I've made and used.

It sounds like making a glass at a time in a simple battery generator,
that 2 or 3 hours is plenty.

Your great great grandchildren will still be using them. <grin>

Using gloves or a clean napkin to handle them, the most you need to do
is wipe them down and rinse with distilled. You don't want to
contaminate them with oils from your fingers.

If you want them shiny, a clean Scotchbrite pad will work, but it'll
remove as much silver as you used. Rinse thoroughly in distilled water.

I don't even bother to clean my electrodes or jar these days. I just
keep the generator lid on the jar and everything stays clean between
batches.

In your case, since you're making some fluffy bits, you'll want to wipe
and/or rinse that electrode just so the stuff doesn't come off into the
next batch.

I usually get rid of any floaters by pouring off the top bit. You might
use a plastic teaspoon to get them out. Any sinkers, just decant the
liquid and leave them behind. Rinse. Repeat.

I store my CS in well-used clear 20 oz. plastic bottles water came in.

It sounds like it to me. Now you just need to convince yourself the
stuff works. The flower experiment or preserving some room temperature
milk is a good start.

Your most welcome, ma'am.

Be well,
