I took one of those long stemmed butane lighters and emptied the butane out. Next I cut off end, was left with center probe and outer ring. I also took safety out of handle. When unit is placed on arm and trigger pulled you can feel the charge. Going to keep it handy in case I get a spider bite. I will try on Mosquito bites also. Bob
