My 16 year old cocker had trouble with diahrea. I took him for a vet checkup
and picked him up several hours later. He was given a shot, and followup pills
of metronidazole 500 mg-one per day. On picking him up from the vet, he could
no longer walk steady, by night he was lopping his head back and forth
laterally, and his legs splayed in front of him, with efforts to change
position difficult, and by morning a seizure. I took him down before opening,
and kissed him goodbye...im still crying. When i looked up the meds i would
have been giving him(metrondidazole)...there is an alert on them for dogs!
Because i had been giving him EIS, and new in learning, i feared i had
contributed to his problems. I think now, his last year was helped greatly by
EIS....and i fear now for the strength and side effects of meds being given
routinely at the vets.
