That led to the discovery of new and bizarre reactions when adding H2O2 to cs. Originally it worked normally, but I had to change dw for some reason. I believe the new dw had some kind of contamination or maybe it leached plasticizer from the polyethylene walls. Something was strange. Adding H2O2 to the cs produced the most amazing reactions. The entire jar would instantly turn white, then the white color faded and you could see the interior had turned yellow. It looked for all the world like the flash of a miniature atom bomb explosion. I documented the results to the list archives - maybe soon we will be able to access them once more. Wish Mike D. good luck and cross your fingers. Part of the astonishment was the speed of the reaction. I had previously posted two experiments that made the silver and hydroxyl ions visible, so you could see how they diffused through the solution. Even with higher than normal voltage applied across the cell, the drift velocity was very slow, and most of the transport was by convection. So to see the entire jar instantly turn white was a jaw-dropping surprise. I still don't undertand how it can happen. Anyway, the cs had no effect on the mold. Perhaps because it is difficult to rinse bleach from fabric completely, even when using vinegar in the final rinse. So maybe the cs turned to silver chloride. Or maybe cs has no effect on spores, or maybe it didn't matter. Perhaps fresh spores were added when the clothes went into the dryer. So you asked a very good question, and that's the reason I no longer use cs:) Regards, Mike M -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
