This is off another group. It occurs to me that something like this might
be of interest to anyone who has written or is writing a book, and might be
the way to go with Bob's book.

"I have been very impressed recently by the print on demand publishing site
called www.lulu.com. This is well worth a look. Publishing your work as
print on demand is FREE on this site. They make their money with editing
services and through marketing once a work is "available" to the public on
their site. It is an amazing concept and very easy to work with once you
get the hang of it.
I intend to use this venue in the future and have experimented with it once
last week publishing a specialized "logbook" for mariners working for the
Washington State Ferry system.

To get an idea of what this is about (what I did last week), go to
www.lulu.com and search for "WSF." This will bring up the logbook. It is
of no use to anyone but ferry workers you will get the idea. LULU also
gives you the ability to create "groups." I started one for maritime
history just to see what would happen. As of this morning, I am the only
member...

You can also publish music and other media through this site. Impressive!"

I see they also deal in e-books:
Lulu offers you the ability to publish e-books. Use this feature for
manuscripts that can't be printed such as very long or odd-sized
manuscripts.

You can upload a single file or many files and many different file formats.
Ebooks are downloaded like regular books and can be found in your
downloads/purchases.

They give tips on layout and so on, for instance this page talking about
margins: http://www.lulu.com/help/index.php?fID=208#margins

All the best, you authors!
