This was quite likely a lab error. You did not tell us what protocol the lab used to test it. One of their standard protocols is to use a gel to test with, and that test is used to test for the activity in the intestines. CS fortunately has almost no activity in the intestines or a gel. The correct test to use is a broth test, which tests for the activity in the blood stream and should prove quite positive. The results of those two tests with CS should be opposite.
