Yes, Voltage is Voltage as long as it is DC. Most places I have
checked it the voltage ranges from 52 to 54 VDC in the USA. or.....
at least in the areas I have worked over the years.
The ringing Voltage is AC, ranges from 70 to 90 VAC. This will get
your attention.
Once I was working on a phone line problem at my place and someone
called 50 times or more. I certainly learned how the ringing voltage feels.
Just attach to some 9999999 silver and there ya go -- a good use
for that spare phone outlet in the den.
