All I do is, instead of putting my lips directly on the bottle, touch the outside of the threads to my lower lip in order to locate it properly, and *pour* the CS into my mouth. My saliva never gets into the CS, thus prolonging its shelf-life. My kids have easily adopted the same precaution as well.
With due (and great) respect for Terry, I think the precaution is justified and easily enough done to be worthwhile.
