In places where it gets too hot constantly and they cannot bring the temperature down, bees couldn't survive because their brood would die - in other words, cook in the honeycomb. BTW there are kitchen recipes using bee larvae instead of meat! Where a beekeeper cuts away excess drone brood, he can use that for food!
