That wasn't a negative statement.
It was a "You can't lose by trying" statement...one that removes all
incentives to do nothing where doing nothing is practically a guarantee the
calf will die.
I bought a veal calf once and experienced scours first hand. I didn't have
CS to work with at the time. It died slow despite all efforts.
Mommas first milk is very important to a new borns' immune system and veal
calves don't get it.
