I went to a specialist dentist, who re-adjusted my bite, built up some
teeth to help keep the new jaw position, and also made me a dental
appliance I wear at night. When I first started treatment, the appliance
was worn 24/7 for several months, and adjusted weekly, then bi-weekly,
then once a month, and so on. When x-rays showed adequate space between
the TM joint and the ear bones, treatment was "over", but I still wear
the appliance every night to prevent tooth grinding, and also sleep in a
different position (changing my sleep position was part of the protocol.
