This reminded me of what I was told by an osteopath I used to attend. He had been in a wheelchair and an Indian osteopath fixed him and also taught him the skills to do the same himself. As well as his practice, he used to treat members of a Fremantle football club (Australia). He told me the way to clear the lungs - he taught it to a physiotherapist once, and then, when he was visiting the hospital, noticed this girl doing it the old thump thump way. When he commented on it, she said it was more than her job was worth to use the method he had taught her.
Anyway, the way was to kind of rub or massage the ribs with the fingers or nails in such a way as to kind of break up or grind down any crystals there. It had to be done in a sequence, from the sides to the centre, I think, front and back, all in one session. No spot to be missed. I don't remember whether it was to be done from top to bottom. At the end, the "rubbish" was kind of pushed to the centre to be flushed away by the body, and the patient would have a big cough. He said that kids would cough and then bounce back fine, but adults were likely to need smelling salts after the session. It might be a starting point for research into the true instructions. All the best Rowena I have one tip: several years ago I read a series of articles about a gadget that CF patients use to breathe in ordinary air. The device in some manner caused the air to enter the lungs in a pattern or manner that breaks up mucous. I do not recall all the details, but a Google search might turn up this information. The device was not expensive, simple to use, and according to the claims, very effective. It saved parents from having to pound on their childrens' backs to break up the mucous, and was much more effective. -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
