I think it is primarily because when you use his blood electrifier, that will cause the cells to absorb toxins at a much higher rate than normal, and use of it with garlic could be deadly. If I remember right he lost one of his friends that way. What is overlooked is that many substances that are toxic in large amounts can be benefitial in smaller quantities. B17 for example can cure cancer, but in large enough doses can kill the patient with cyanide poisoning.
