Thank you very much for this discussion. I do not have
an LED on my set up, just batteries, multimeter, and
silver all hooked up with wires.

You need to add, 1 resistor and one LED. Cost about 50 cents to one dollar. Try 1000 ohn, 1/4 or 1/2 watt. I like Green, but you can pick your favorite color.

The voltage was constant at 32.7 V DC.

Do you have a constant or regulated voltage? The batteries provide a
decent degree of regulation. Better than most power supplies.

In some of these batches, the current is steady, but
in others it is not, it continues to rise by a .01
every second or 2.
Or is that .01 of 1 ma ? Not sure.

Is the .01 an error? You are switching units.
1/100 amp, then back to .001 amp.

That .01 is 100 ma.

The new batch of clear CS was brewed for 2 hours, 1
quart, started with 32V dc, had the potentiometer set
at about 3.0, but it crept up over time to 3.3 mA.
I guess your pot can change current from .01 to .001, can it not?

Any ideas what I have made as far as ppm? I don't have
excel, so I can't use that handy program online. From
what others have posted here, it may be 18ppm, or
something like that.

You can worry yourself to death, ....... the rest of your life, if you want to do so. Especially with ppm.

Of course some of us rather be an experimenter than an expert CS brewer.
They are not one and the same, ........ but they can be.

I would consider using the resistor and the LED. At some point, you won't have to use your instrumentation for every batch.

If I was going to do that, I would buy a few nice panel meters and install them into a cabinet or plate and use them just for the CS process.

These could be current meters, volt meters, multiple units, meter shunts,
and selector switches. Why NOT ? Some really nice LED meters exist.
They are better than the LCD type in my opinion.
