Just as was indicated in the posts relating to the CS delivery method for the mink farm, I believe
it is unanimously accepted that CS in liquid is very effective and when mixed into a solid substance
it loses it's degree of effectivity to the point where it might be virtually ineffective.
Therefore, it may be much better to add the CS to the drinking water than to the feed, regardless of
the uncertainty of how much water they drink...

I wish it was that easy Marshall. We do better than putting CS in their
drinking water, where it would be difficult to monitor exactly how much
CS they're getting. We give them an average of a quart per day of CS
directly into their feed. For years. And they relapse anyway. They
relapse while they're getting a quart of CS per day. Somehow, we're not
getting all of the protozoa. And we don't know why. But the pattern is
pretty reliable -- they're symptom-free in cold weather, and symptoms
start up again in warm weather. They are usually at their worst in the
heat and humidity of mid-Summer, then start to normalize again in the
Fall. Another thing -- stress can bring about EPM symptoms in an
otherwise *cured* horse. We have actually stopped using the word *cure*
at all with these horses. We refer to the lack of symptoms as
*remission*. MA
