This is what I had heard as well but what is the science behind the answer? Why can't you use it in warm/hot mist? What about the procedure of heating changes the cs? and what will happen if you do? Does anyone know? Doris

Doris Doris, My understanding is that you can only use a cool-mist humidifier, not the steam (hot) type, and any filters must be removed in order for it to be effective.
