You could build one of my Telephone Line Generator, ( works at 50, 52, of 54 VDC ) and never have to buy a battery again.
Any details on this? Sounds very interesting...

It is interesting due to the low cost, simplicity, and the excellent job that it does.

In addition, where can you go that there is not a phone outlet?
A primitive location or the jungle?

Once I had a meeting to teach friends how to make CS. Most had been using CS and they had interesting testimonials.

I installed a phone jack on my briefcase using batteries to provide the voltage.

Here is a pictorial that shows how to connect the parts. http://www.fugitt.com/ph_gen.jpg

After all, there are a total of 3 parts inside.
1 resistor
1 LED
1 Small Full Wave Bridge

Cost is usually $5.00 to $6.00.

Before I built this unit, I had been using the 3 each 9 volt battery which gave only 27 VDC. I liked the increase in speed of the 50+ volts.

I have given away a number of parts packages. One guy could not assemble the unit so I made that pictorial and sent it to him.
It prints half decent. I can make better drawings.

Here are a few pictures of the unit.

Scroll down until you see a folder phonegen.

This is nothing fancy but it works and is small and compact. It will fit in the shirt pocket.

It would be very easy to use most any power supply with this unit, or........ series a number of batteries. By building it in the surface phone line terminal block, a conventional phone patch cord will plug right into the unit.
