I replaced the script that adds the CS> and SO> tags to the list subject lines with a different one that supposedly does not trip a subtle bug in the installed version of procmail, which is the mail transport program the list server software runs on top of. I installed the new script on the OT list a couple days ago. There've been no blank subject lines generated, except in replies to same, and no other catastrophes, so I figured it safe to try on the main list. If all is well from here out, the only way to get a blank subject line will be to send one yourself. The list itself shouldn't eat your non- blank Subject any more. Be well, Mike D.
