I cant see cotton filtering out much less than 2um in size maximum.  The CS
particles are usually much smaller than this, so the answer to your question
is no.

Reverse osmosis would remove the particles but also the ionic part as well I
think (can anyone else comment on this?).  The PPM from them is very low.
