While Ruth's initial comments stretched on about two sentences too long, Kirsteen, your answer, too, served to compound the problem, leading to a further couple of rounds of response. Now, the two of you resolved things amicably, to which I say, BRAVO! Thank you! If nobody else piles on in the next day or two, we should be okay. (Chuck??? <LOL>) But that gives us a hint just how quickly things can deteriorate. If anything is getting out of hand a heads-up note to me, privately, is all you need to get my attention. So as not to make the list an overtly *hostile* place for people of various faiths, the list rules go on to state: "I am not asking you to "de-God" everything you say, do or think, however. Brief greetings, thanks, and prayer requests or offerings are acceptable. The occasional "God bless", or "you're in our prayers" will not be seen as a transgression. Modest tag lines or signature files may also be used." A large measure of sensitivity *AND* tolerance are required for participation in a diverse group such as ours. I expect this of all of you. These rules are the best I have been able to come up with to accommodate the needs of most of our members. Given the rarity of problems these last few months, they seem to be reasonably effective.
