Sounds as though there is Iodine in the Betadine?
Funny, I am allergic to Betadine but have no problems with Iodine.
Now I am thinking its all in my head...puzzled. V

Betadine is iodine-povidone complex, povidone is PVP

If you have no problem with other forms of iodine, you may be reacting to the PVP (povidone). Though the article above states povidone is completely inert to humans, I have reacted to various things that contain it, so I avoid it completely, in fact I had previously thought povidone itself was a form of iodine, guess that isn't true, but I still react to it.
