Hello, I plan to do some simulations using simflex but don't know too much about this tool. So I have a couple of newbie questions here and hope you can help me out.
First, how can I get the IPC and cache miss rate by using stat-manager? I used the CMPFlex.OoO to perform the timing simulation on your filter application. The whole process goes smoothly according to the "getting started" manual. But I don't know the parameters of stat-manager for showing the IPC and L1/L2 cache miss rate for each core. In the "Examing sampled results" section, every thing is for uniprocessor. The second question is about the flex-points. What indeed is stored in a flex-point and how is it used when we make the timing simulation? I assume the timing simulation should be performed on the flex-points. If I develop a component, should I apply it when I create flex-points (i.e. compile it into TraceCMPFlex, right?) or simply apply it during a sampled timing simulation (meaning that I can reuse the flex-point created before )? The last question is about the component development. Is there any small example for a newbie like me to get started? Thanks for your help. Best, Chen
