Nathan Thanks for the offer.
I'm using Ubuntu (Kernel 2.6.38) I downloaded dnprogs-2.53.tar.gz and poked around some of the document files. I was overwhelmed. Some tips to continue from this point would be appreciated. Do I understand correctly? If I install these tools on Linux, I'll be able to communicate with SIMH VAX DECnet. Like NODE::COPY, PHONE and other toys? I'm not interested (at this time) in Clustering. I have a real VAX and real Alpha that I may Cluster with SIMH VAX in the future though. Just for fun of course. I use Debian myself, but Red Hat Enterprise Linux is well documented - take a look: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/ Now, where can I get RHEL, you say? The answer is, you can't unless you pay for it - the name, that is. The name RHEL is trademarked, but the content is free. So here comes the CentOS distribution, which is an exact clone of RHEL, except under a different name. http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=15 Anyway, if you tell me what distro you're using, I can point you to some appropriate docs. Cheers, Nathan
