I hope that Camiel didn't just take the es40 code with him to whatever emulator vendor he's working for, because it was GPL 2 code, and a bunch of the IDE code was mine...

I don’t know but I’ve always assumed the author got involved with one of the commercial emulators and then couldn’t continue contributing to an open source version.  
Yes, he now works for one of the emulator vendors, and I think some of this code may have become part of their commercial offering.

I’d looked at the EmuVM website the other night, as I’ve been trying to research this some, as I have time.  They appear to have removed their free offering, and I’m not even convinced they’re still alive.  The website doesn’t exude confidence.
