That makes sense. LAVC runs over Ethernet, so any proper extended LAN (bridged
network) should work so long as latency and packet loss rates are sane. All
DEC protocols are designed to deal with Ethernet packet loss, of course, but
the assumption is that loss rates are low or performance will suffer badly.
