Thanks, Tim. In terms of documentation, CSS is kind of a black hole. I don't know what happened to their archive, but it doesn't seem to have ended up at CHM. The RB09 (used in unix v0) found its way into an early PDP-9 Handbook, but that was a fluke.

Reindert Voorhorst found a DC01-EB exerciser listing. The XVM/MUMPS15 scanner code is mostly in a separately assembled module that is not included with the listing we have.

Perhaps, like the KS11, we'll never know exactly how this gadget worked. Without MUMPS15 sources, it's a moot point.

Looking through the XVM/MUMPS15 listing, I saw that the timesharing
terminals were attached via a DC01 communications multiplexer. There's
no reference to such a device anywhere in the 18b literature on
Bitsavers.

Because the PDP15 is a contemporary of the PDP8/I and the KI10, I
thought it might be a variant of their multiplexers, but I can't find
a match.

Another mystery.

The DC01 was a CSS product.  Option/module reveals that it was adapted
for the 8, 9, 15 & 11.  You may find some hints in the other families,
though as you know, registers tend to have family ties...
