Stephen, I've been doing similar things, and can think of a couple options, depending on the details. If it's an individual blog that yo u can add plugins to, you might check if one of the SIOC exporters [1] will do the trick by turning the data into RDF, then sending that into the Exhibit. Or, if it's WordPress, and you're happy to install ARC2, you could try the ARC2 for Wordpress [2], and install ARC2's Exhibit JSON Serializer [3].
I've had to take a different route, and am working on scraping Atom/ RSS feeds into ARC2, then using the Exhibit JSON serializer.
