Hi Jørn, Yes, you can create your own "labeller" for a Timeline band. See http://simile-widgets.googlecode.com/svn/timeline/trunk/src/webapp/api/scripts/labellers.js which contains the default labellers.
The task involves programming. If you're not a programmer, you can hire someone, should not cost too much.
