Hi Pascal,

Sounds like you want to automatically create an xml file from your database.

You can use a report writer for that, or write software to do it. Or hire
someone to write the software.
The software can be written in php, Java, Ruby on Rails, Perl or most any
language.

You should also think about how often the data in the database changes.
If it changes once a day or less often then you might want to (automatically)
create the xml file at that time, then have your Timeline download the file.

If the data changes all the time, then your software can query the database
when the Timeline page is loaded. That is the most dynamic way, but it puts the
highest load on your database server. So then the issue is how many people will
be looking at the Timeline page. The more that do, the more of a load on your
db server.

If you're not a programmer then you should find one to consult with.

Regards,

Larry

Subject: Recieving from a mysql database instead of a xml file (Timeline)

Hello,
I'm trying to work with data from a MySQL-database, but I don't want
to make every time a xml-file out of the database. Is there a way to
get data directly (maybe over a php script) into the timeline?
Any ideas?
