Mark,
heres what worked for me on version 1 (if I remember correctly). (d)
signifies a directory. I dont believe I moved any of the files in the
sub-directories around so they should stay as you downloaded them.
If this is not enough info, email me and I can ls all directories for you.

web(d)
-------index.html
-------styles.css
------examples.js (only if you need to use the filter controls)
api(d)
-------timeline-api.js
-------ext(d)
-------images(d)
-------scripts(d)
-------styles(d)

index.html has a reference to timeline-api.js
eg...<script src="api/timeline-api.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link rel='stylesheet' href='styles.css' type='text/css' />

HTH!
