Let's see if I can re-state the question:

Do you mean, "if the width of the browser's window enables the human to be
seeing two or three days worth of events at once, then I'd like one of the days
to be highlighted in a different color"

Or you'd like to see a "window" effect with one day's worth of events more
visible than the days before or after the "window"

If that's the question, then the closest idea I have is for you is to use an
ether Highlight or change the ether painter which controls the background.
Another idea is to look at the ways that bands are synch'ed with each other.
The band that covers more time will have a "window" in it that shows the area
covered by the synch'd band which shows fewer events.

I believe the windowing effect is accomplished by the
Timeline._Band.prototype._positionHighlight function in band.js

And note the call to
this._etherPainter.setHighlight
in that function.

I hope this helps. I still don't really understand the effect that you're
after. To me, a Timeline doesn't have the concept of "current date." It does
have the concepts of the minimum and maximum points in time that are shown to
the user. But the difference between the visible max and min shown could be a
day, two days, a week, or more. Plus, the time difference doesn't only depend
on the resolution of your timeline, it also depends on the user--he or she can
make the browser window very narrow, or wide.

Regards,

Larry

The current date, is there anyway that the highlight will move forward
in the timeline automatically to reflect currently where we are in the
timeline?
